Congratulations Class of 2020

Congratulations today to all of our students who did so well in the Leaving Certificate results. We at Leinster Senior College are very proud of all your achievements. You have done the hard work and can be assured whatever the grades you received, you have ALL done your best. It has been a difficult year for you. But you kept working and did your best. It was a pleasure to work with you. Well done all!

The calculated grades process was not ideal and some of you may be disappointed. If you are unhappy with your calculated grade and decide to sit the November Exams it is our intention to run Revision Courses in October. More details later.

2020 is a different year, and unfortunately, due to public health measures we cannot have you celebrate at the school today. You are very free to call us and we will try help you in any way possible. 045 487 811, 087 637 9590 or email

Appeal – The next Steps

If you decide you want to do something about your calculated grades, you have two options – appealing the grade, and sitting the exam in November. You can choose to both appeal the grade and sit the exam if you’re not happy with the outcome of the appeal.

How to appeal a calculated grade
The appeals process will open on 14th September 2020 at 9am. Students who want to appeal a grade can log into the Calculated Grades Student Portal and select the grades they want to appeal. There is no fee for appealing a calculated grade.

In the portal, you will be able to see the estimated mark provided by your school, and the adjusted mark after the standardisation process took place.

The deadline for submitting an appeal is 16th September 2020 at 5pm.

The appeal process will go through these steps:
Stage One: Checking that the data was entered correctly by the school
Stage Two: Checking that the data was received and processed correctly by the Department of Education
Stage Three: An option to have the process reviewed by independent appeal scrutineers if you’re still not happy with the results

If students are still not happy, they can choose to sit the written exam in November.
